About

Sherry Kohlert, AAA, GG, is a distinguished Certified Appraiser of Personal Property and a Graduate Gemologist from GIA. Her journey began in 1979 when she relocated to New Orleans, embarking on a path that would see her become a luminary in the field of appraisals.

During her pursuit of a Master of Arts Thesis in English and Art History in 1983, Sherry embraced an opportunity as an assistant to a prominent Royal Street antiques and art dealer. Royal Street, renowned as one of the world’s premier antique shopping districts, provided the perfect backdrop for her to immerse herself in the intricacies of the trade. Over twelve enriching years, she absorbed every facet of the antiques and fine art realm.

In 1991, armed with her expertise and a newfound passion for appraisals, Sherry earned accreditations with the International Society of Appraisers and founded Kohlert Appraisal Services, LLC. Initially based on Royal Street, her practice flourished, leading to expansion into City Park and Old Metairie by 1995. That same year, she established Kohlert-Winters Antiques, operating a successful shop and showcasing her treasures at antique shows nationwide.

Recognized for her expertise, Sherry was accepted into the esteemed Appraisers Association of America in 2001. Continuing to broaden her reach, she opened a satellite office in St. Francisville, LA, in 2006. Sherry’s commitment to excellence extended to estate sales, a service she regularly conducts through her company, All Together Now.

In 2010, Sherry’s reputation reached new heights with the opening of an office in “Valobra,” a distinguished fourth-generation jewelry and antique firm with locations in New Orleans and Houston, Texas. Since its inception, her appraisal practice has garnered acclaim nationally and internationally.

Sherry’s dedication to her craft is evident in the hundreds of meticulously crafted appraisal reports she has authored. Each report adheres to the rigorous standards set forth by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

With her wealth of experience, Sherry assists clients in navigating the sale of their personal property, guiding them to the most suitable markets, whether through on-site estate sales, reputable auction houses, or consignment arrangements.

Sherry Kohlert’s daily engagement with the buying and selling of antiques and art underscores her profound expertise and commitment to providing unparalleled service to her clients.
