Sherry Kohlert, AAA, GG is a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property and a GIA Graduate Gemologist. Sherry moved to New Orleans in 1979. While writing her Master of Arts Thesis in English and Art History in 1983, she accepted a position as an assistant to a nationally known Royal Street antiques and art dealer. Royal Street is one of the premiere antique shopping districts worldwide. Ms. Kohlert worked on Royal Street for twelve years learning all aspects of the antiques and fine art trade.

In 1991, she earned her accreditations with the International Society of Appraisers and founded Kohlert Appraisal Services, LLC at which time she established a successful appraisal practice on Royal Street in New Orleans.  She continued with further appraisal methodology instruction from the Certified Appraisers Guild of America. In 1995, Ms. Kohlert moved her offices to City Park and Old Metairie and expanded her practice throughout the greater New Orleans area.  She founded Kohlert-Winters Antiques in 1995, operated a shop and traveled throughout the United States exhibiting at antique shows for many years.  In 2001 Ms. Kohlert was accepted into the Appraisers Association of America.  In 2006 she opened a satellite office in St. Francisville, LA.  She conducts estate sales on a regular basis with her company All Together Now.  In 2010 she opened another office in “Valobra”, a venerable fourth generation jewelry and antique firm located in New Orleans and Houston Texas.  Ms. Kohlert’s appraisal practice has expanded nationally and internationally since its inception.

Ms. Kohlert has written hundreds of appraisal reports. She is dedicated to providing each of her clients with a detailed, accurate appraisal of their personal property. Each appraisal report prepared by Sherry Kohlert conforms to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, (USPAP).

Ms. Kohlert’s many years of experience enables her to assist her clients wishing to sell their personal property. Ms. Kohlert works individually with each of her clients to help them decide which markets are most appropriate for selling the type of property they have. Those markets may include on site estate sales, reputable auction house or consignment situations in appropriate retail venues. Ms. Kohlert has daily hands on experience with buying and selling all types of antiques and art.
